Great Taste Awards

Hey Strangers,

It’s been a minute, so we thought, it must be time for a blog post.

2022 is turning into another crazy year for us all and definitely not just in the coffee industry!

We move on from the global Covid pandemic, although its lasting impact is not forgotten and onto War with Russia and Ukraine. There just seems to be no let-up in the madness of the modern world, and our thoughts are with all those affected.

So while the world goes mad, here at Strangers we’ve been doing what we know best, finding and roasting delicious coffee and we’ve got some real treats lined up for you.

New in we have a light and delicate washed Ethiopian in Bombe Dry fermentation, with flavours of honey-dipped apricots and jasmine florals in the cup.

If funky naturals are more your thing you’ll love Anserma a Natural processed Colombian Castillo variety which is like eating boozy tropical fruit, sweetshop candy and trifle.

Both of these awesome coffees work for all brewing methods, depending on your preference, but with temps in the roastery well into the 40s, iced black is the ultimate, refreshing caffeine hit! Like cocktails in the daytime. Yum!

Now, although we have new coffees hitting our shelves all the time, we also have several blends and single-origin coffees we try and keep in stock most of the year round. This year we decided to send a few of these to be judged by the team at the Great Taste Award.

If you don’t know, the Great Taste Award, it’s the world's largest and most trusted food and drinks accreditation scheme.

Every year their industry expert judges taste thousands of different products from a wide range of producers big and small. Check out their website for more info at:

https://greattasteawards.co.uk

I’m a big fan of this competition, it’s not just about winning, it’s a great way to gain non-bias feedback about your products from industry professionals with a view to constantly improve what you do.

I’ve been in speciality coffee for 13 years now and every day I learn something new on my favourite subject.

Anyway, we’re really proud to be the only coffee roaster in Norfolk presented with Great Taste Awards in the espresso coffee category and for 3 different roasts:

Twin Peaks Blend,

Fine City Blend &

Fazenda Bom Jesus single origin Brazil

These are really popular coffees with our customers and it’s fantastic the judges at Great Taste Awards could see why.

As always thanks so much for your ongoing support, we hope to see you soon and until next time, happy brewing. Peace. ✌️
