New coffees to brighten up your January

Well folks we made it! The madness of Christmas is done for another year, the rush of customers is calming once again, and normality starts to return as we eek further into January.

The break-in craziness does give us a little extra time to focus on what’s coming up, here at Strangers for early 2022 and of course, it involves plenty of the good stuff.

So to kick the year off we have 3 new single-origin coffees, to bring a bit of brightness to you, during these cold winter months.

First up is a Colombia Natural called Bolivar. We’ve been working on this one since before Xmas as it made up part of the Christmas blend. We were so delighted with the part it played, that we’ve decided to release it by itself. Drinking this one makes me think of sweet shop cola cubes and crisp red apples, delicate and candy sweet.

Next up we change continent to Africa, to Ethiopia, some say the birthplace of coffee and for me still produces some of the best coffee in the world.

We just love the red berry fruitiness that a good natural from here seems to bring and our latest offer in Bekele doesn’t disappoint. Great for all extraction methods, if you like something a little lighter, brighter and fruitier.

And last but definitely not the least is another African clonker but this time from Kenya! We call this stuff barista kryptonite, I’m not sure why, but it seems to have some kind of a crazy effect on us all.

Totally different from our other new releases, this is a washed AA grade bean called Gakuyu. The expert processing is obvious in the final cup and the unique flavour profile of the high-grade Kenyan beans comes through. I describe this one as comforting, with a good level of body, subtle citrus notes and golden syrup sweetness. Deliciousness!!

So if you’re like me and need a little brightening up over winter, grab yourself a bag of Strangers and make things great again.

And until next time people, happy brewing. Peace. ✌️
