Eleodoro Villatoro, the owner of Finca La Ceiba sadly passed last November at the age of 94, after a very fruitful life.

He started in the coffee business as a buyer and seller of coffees from Huehuetenango. This was back in the day when it was incredibly difficult to transport the coffee and it took 3 days by horse and foot to get to the nearest town.

In 1953 Eledoro was able to purchase his first plot of land to start cultivating his own coffee. All these years of working in coffee have made him a prominent figure in the specialty coffee market. He is world known for his special attention to his coffee plantation, harvesting and post harvest processing to obtain the best quality possible.

Eleodoro had 12 children, 7 of them, his Sons; currently take care of Finca La Ceiba. They continue with the tradition and the good care of the processing. His Grandkids are now also very much involved and have new energy for improving the quality and accessing more international markets.
